Faculty Bio

Emily received both her Bachelor's and Masters of Music degrees in Cello Performance and Pedagogy from the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore. She has had extensive experience in teaching, working with students of all ages at Baltimore School of the Arts, the Durham Arts Council programs, the Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra and other schools and organizations. As a performer, she is currently Assistant Principal Cello for the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Substitute Cello for the NC Symphony Orchestra, and has played extensively in solo and chamber concerts at Duke, Peabody and elsewhere. She is also founder and cellist of Wire Tap Music, Durham.
