Many people view drums as a “fun” instrument that anyone can play. And, while playing the drums can be fun, learning how to play them well takes real skill and quality instruction. That’s why, here at Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts, we pride ourselves on offering drum lessons from only the most skilled and knowledgeable instructors.
Without drums and well-trained drummers, music could never have that same body-swaying, toe-tapping element that makes music so powerful and all-encompassing. We know this to be true, which is why our instructors treat drums like the serious and important instrument they are.
Learn Your Way
Because we offer drum lessons online and in person, students can learn this beautiful instrument in a way and in an environment that works for them.
In fact, you don’t even have to purchase an entire drum kit for lessons with us if you don’t want. Thanks to today’s technology, our beginning students can learn with a simple drum pad and sticks or even with a digital drum kit. This can be helpful for keeping down costs and noise.
Of course, students who do want to learn with a full drum kit are welcome to do so. And, lessons taken in our studio do utilize a full kit. However, no matter how a student learns and practices, the results are the same: quality skills and superior drum playing ability.
Learn The Most Vital Skills
Whether students take our drum lessons at home, in person, or a combination of both, they’ll learn vital skills from our qualified instructors.
We believe in creating versatile, well-rounded musicians, which is why we teach a variety of musical styles. We also focus on teaching the most important techniques for good musicians to master. Things like creativity, timing, phrasing, dynamics, ear training, sight reading, and composing are all central parts of our courses. Additionally, our lessons show students how to master their instruments both when playing on their own and when playing as part of a group, so they’ll be able to tackle any musical situation.
When you search for drum lessons near me, you may find lots of schools. But, we assure you that we stand out from the rest, a fact that is evidenced by the many skilled musicians we’ve helped to create.
