Flute Lessons

For students who long to be in a musical ensemble or for anyone just looking to develop a new skill, flute lessons are an excellent option. Here at Chapel Hill School of Musical Arts, we offer these lessons to students of all ages and from all walks of life. So, no matter who you are or why you want to learn, we invite you to sign up for a class with us.

Perfect for Young Musicians

While we love our students of all ages, taking flute lessons online or in the studio is a particularly good option for middle-school age musicians.

We recommend that students be at least 8 to 9 years old to start these lessons. At this point, they will likely be able to read well and will have their adult teeth, all important prerequisites for learning the flute.

Furthermore, most children of this age learned how to play the recorder in the fourth grade. So, they should find it relatively easy to move on to another wind instrument. However, we’re always willing to assess any student to find the best class placement for them. After all, every student is unique!

One-on-One Attention

Whether taking flute lessons at home or in-person, students of all ages will benefit from the one-on-one attention offered by our highly qualified instructors.

Many schools attempt to teach the flute in a group setting. And, while this can work for some students, focused, individualized attention is always better. With all the attention concentrated on the student to ensure they have the best learning experience possible, students will learn more quickly and thoroughly.

Furthermore, all of our teachers utilize an encouraging, supportive approach to musical instruction.
